Changelog

Every change to QuickVideoCutter.com, newest first, with the date it shipped. New features, fixes and removals, kept current.

October 22, 2026

  • added: Install QuickVideoCutter.com as an app with its real icon, screenshots and shortcuts, then open MP4, MOV and M4V files straight into it from your computer.
  • changed: The home page shows each step, keyframe snapping and the no-upload flow as illustrations, and images now describe themselves to screen readers in dark mode too.
  • fixed: If a video is moved, deleted or changed after you open it, the editor now says so and asks you to choose it again, instead of showing a general error.
  • fixed: On phones, the message shown when your browser cannot display a video's picture now fits inside the player.
  • added: A new logo and app icon, an illustrated tour of the editor on the home page, and a diagram on How it works showing that your video never leaves your device.

October 21, 2026

  • changed: The site is now called QuickVideoCutter.com, the same as its address. Nothing else about the tool changes.
  • added: Trim a video on the home page: drag or type a start and end, export an MP4 with the same quality, and download it, without uploading anything.
  • added: When your browser cannot show a video's picture, such as HEVC in some browsers, the editor says so and trimming still works.
  • added: A page explaining how local processing works, and a privacy policy rewritten to match it: no cookies, no uploads, anonymous counts only.
  • changed: A new look: warm paper and ink colours, a tangerine accent, and the clearer Geist typeface for all text, in light and dark mode.
  • added: The site in Spanish: a Spanish home page and legal pages under /es/, with a language menu on every page that has a translation.
  • added: First release.
